Melody Miles Haynes, Esq. is the Founder and Managing Attorney of Haynes Group LLC. Before becoming an attorney, she began her career as a high school English teacher in the Baltimore City Public School System — a foundation that shaped her ability to explain complex legal concepts in plain, accessible language.
She then spent nearly two decades as a Criminal Trial Attorney, representing more than 20,000 clients across Maryland and the District of Columbia. That courtroom experience gave her a deep understanding of how quickly life can change — and how important it is to be prepared.
The turning point came when she lost her father suddenly. Helping her family navigate the difficult and often painful process of settling his affairs without a plan in place showed her firsthand what is at stake when families are left unprepared. That experience became the foundation of her estate planning practice.
Today, Attorney Haynes helps Maryland and D.C. families protect their homes, provide for their children, and establish a lasting legacy — through wills, revocable living trusts, powers of attorney, deed transfers, special needs planning, asset protection, and probate administration.
